Polygraph test are used in several different kinds of cases:

1. Specific Polygraph Testing: In a specific polygraph test the test is conducted with specific facts provided to the examiner prior to the test. A good example is theft of money / jewellery.
2. Pre-Employment testing: Once a candidate applies for a work at a new job it is advisable to allow the new candidate to undergo a polygraph test. We usually asked several questions for example, if the

Periodic Polygraph / Screening Test: A lot of times a client request that we test employees to see if they have been involved with some kind of criminal activities for example, once the client has a big warehouse it is possible that a employee stealing and are involved but then it is sometimes difficult to track any theft activities immediately till a proper stock take is done. Therefore, we have a lot of clients that request that we test their employees on a periodic time e.g., every 3/6 months.
4. Infidelity: We do Infidelity testing daily. At Spot on Polygraph, we prefer to conduct Infidelity test at the office in Centurion. It is recommended that the examiner consult with both parties involved in a relationship. This type of case is more complexed than a specific case therefore consultation prior to test is important. During consultation between the examiner and parties all question will be discussed and drawn up. This kind of case do usually take longer than normal – 1 hour or more
5. CCMA Presentation: All examiner is fully trained and capable of being called as an expert witness in a labour related case at the CCMA.
6. Calibration of Polygraph Equipment: : All LX 4000 & 6000 Instruments used are calibrated 1 /2 per year. Spot on Polygraph has its own calibration instrument. Each polygraph examiner receives a certificate from the CEO that all polygraph machines are calibrated and in good standing working condition.
